Anemia is a state of hemoglobin that is below normal limits. This is the biggest cause of iron deficiency. Effects of anemia on the body vary in each individual. Some of them are decreasing resistance to infection, the body feels weak, tired, easily tired and limp, decreased resistance to infection and impaired metabolism of emotional control center.
If anemia occurs in pregnant women, it can cause a decline in physical ability because the body’s cells do not receive sufficient oxygen supply, increase the frequency of complications during pregnancy and childbirth, bleeding in pregnancy over the age of 20 weeks and even can cause low milk production. Therefore, do not underestimate anemia.
Anemia can occur in anyone, but the prevention of every individual is different. To prevent anemia in infants, you can simply give exclusive breastfeeding (breastfeeding until the baby is six months old or continued at least up to two years. However, if anemia occurs in adults, simply by eating foods or drinks that are rich in iron.
Iron are found mainly in meat, eggs, wheat, corn, potato, sweet potato, taro, red or white rice and black rice, beans and fruits as well as, dates, apples, guava, papaya, star fruit, avocado, jack fruit , barked and sugar apple. For those of you, who suffer from anemia, should avoid excessive tea consumption. This is because tea can inhibit iron absorption in the intestine.
